Fred has been actively involved with the Society since 1986. He lives in the Docklands area of London, has four grown up children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren!
He took on the role of Chairman for two years from 1987 and it was during this time that he set up the Society's first office in Beckenham, Kent and took on the Society's first part-time paid employee. Prior to this he had operated the Society from his spare bedroom.
He resigned as Chairman in 1990 due to pressure of work but still kept a very close relationship with the Society and set up the Society's membership database which he has maintained and upgraded over the years.
When he retired in 2011 he became a volunteer, working in the office two or three days a week. He took on the role of IT administrator looking after the IT equipment. He also took on the role of webmaster looking after the website, which he has rebuilt and updated over time culminating in the current website which went live in February 2014.
Fred became a Trustee in 2013.
